Arctic Zero – A Healtheir Dessert!

Hey NeverEver’s!

Yes its Saturday and I am writing?!? Wonders never stop during the Holiday season does it? However, I am doing a review today and would like to say out right that I am NOT being paid for any of what I am saying. I did get free samples but everything in which I am about to say is my own opinion and not anyone else.

So even though its winter everywhere else here in California it can still be in the 70’s and sometimes even higher and that I still want ice cream at times.  Well I was lucky enough to be invited by Arctic Zero to try out some of theirs.

At first I was skeptical of course. A healthy and good tasting frozen dessert? Not likely but I was game to try it. And I have to say I was pleasantly surprised but not only how good they tasted but that there was no ‘healthy’ after taste that some healthy mass produced items taste.

My favorites were the pints!

These 2 flavors were my favorite. The Maple Vanilla which was creamy and had a sweet after taste that really made my day! The other one was the Cookie and Cream. It had just enough of the ‘cookie’ taste that I fell in love with!

Next are the bars and I made the Hubby try these. Mainly because they are dipped in chocolate and well chocolate isn’t my thing. Never really has been. However, from the Hubby’s review they are delicious and taste just like ‘the real thing’ which from a guy ^_^.

So here are some stats about Arctic Zero!

The pints come in Maple Vanilla, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Cookies and Cream, Mint Chocolate, Strawberry, Coffee and Chocolate.
They are only 150 calories for the whole pint!
The bars are 85 Calories and Chocolate and Vanilla dipped in Chocolate and Strawberry and Orange dipped in Chocolate.
They are Fat Free, Lactose Intolerant Friendly and Gluten Free

And the most important part is that they are delicious! See if Arctic Zero is near you!

Enjoying NOT indulging During the Holidays!

So NeverEver’s, I can’t believe it is that time of year again. Okay we have less then a week away! I need these tips more then ever, so I thought to share!

Sharing is awesome right? Anyways, these are my thoughts! Hope you like them!!

Enjoying NOT indulging During the Holidays!

It is the most wonderful time of the year, or at least it is supposed to be. But, with those Holiday parties, Family Drama, or even just the Cold Weather, it can all lead to some over indulgence. I know it does for me!

So how can we still have fun during the Holidays but not over indulge so that the New Year doesn’t have so many resolutions? Here are some tips on surviving the Holidays with all the hard work you did for the year and keeping your sanity!

  • Park your car away from the store front. Not only are you putting your car away from possible damage from other cars, but you are putting extra steps in your day. All without really thinking about it, which is the BEST part! Also, should mention that carrying those shopping bags back to your car will double as your weight workout!
  • Get those Seven Servings of Fruit and Veggies in first! Not only do they have their normal goodness to them but of course they have the added benefit of keeping you fuller longer. Also, you can’t forget that satisfying crunch!
  • Normal is good! That is right, try to get in as many normal days as you can between the parties and traveling. It will help make sure feel good about having that extra cocktail and keep you in the habit of working out / eating right so you don’t start all over again come New Years!
  • Meal Planning. You did it all year, yet thoughts of turkey and pot lucks make it a thing of the past. It doesn’t have to be that way! In fact planning your meals during this season is extremely important. Cooking Holiday Dinner or hosting a Holiday Party? Choose the healthier versions of your favorite foods. Here are some swap ideas Here and Here!
  • Dress to Impress! Okay, I know it sounds silly, or an ‘Of Course’ moment. But, it is important to dress up while at this years Holiday Events. Reason why…your good clothes are usually tighter, which equals you feeling full faster. So look good and make the party your own!

Dinner on the Queen Mary!

Hey NeverEver’s!
Sorry I wasn’t able to post yesterday like I normally do, I had completely forgotten about the Macy’s Dinner Party that they were throwing for jewelry! Although normally hubby and I would not have been invited, store level only not really in the corporate sector, hubby decorated (with help) the room the party was held. So Macy’s decided to be really nice and invite the Visual teams to the dinner as well!
Yay free food!

Not sure if anyone of you have been on the Queen Mary before. She is a really lovely ship in the Long Beach harbor. Her best time of the year is during Halloween since she does an amazing mazes! I have done the mazes and they are pretty elaborate…plus they have a dance floor & drinks!

So the dinner was supposed to be Semi-Formal. I think I really nailed the idea of that! I got the dress last year, and it wasn’t tight at all, for Hubby’s and my anniversary! Plus, this is only the 2nd time I was able to wear those shoes! They remind me of a senorita because it has a wonderful flower on the side! Oh and Handbag…only $4.00 DSW clearance!

So before I knew that Macy’s had provided free wine, red and white, I wanted to get something from the bar. I decided on a Ginger Peach Martini. It wasn’t my taste in drinks at all, so the Hubby got it and he actually liked it!

This is one of my favorite pictures! I just love how the sunsets look in any beach city and Long Beach is no exception to the rule!

So this was the dinner table. Have to say it was a little intense with all the silverware and not really knowing which to use. But I think I made it through the night with out THAT many faux passes!

So the salad was really good. They served it dry and there was a boat of dressing but I decided to eat the salad with the ricotta cheese that they had on the side. It was delicious and I didn’t miss the dressing at all!

It was rare roast beef with scallops. Now I am not a fish person so I ignored the scallops but the roast beef was so good! The meat just melted in your mouth. I was surprised that the had the ‘purple potato’ on the dish but it was just as yummy as the regular one!

The Hubby and I! Now the thing he is holding in his hand is a necklace in the shape of a lollipop that was designed by LL Cool J’s (really not sure on the spelling but lets go with it) wife. It was a really cute gift that everyone got!

Did I mention that we had a runway show? No, okay so we had an awesome runway show featuring the jewelry or watches from Macy’s. I decided on this picture because you have two males for the price of one! I was just happy that they did the show in between the meal courses so we really didn’t miss a thing!

Now I had made a decision to leave off my BodyMedia when I went to the Queen Mary. Part of the decision was because every once in a while my arm needs a breather. The second part was because my black cover really didn’t fit all that well with it on!

So NeverEver’s I hope you guys had an awesome Thursday and even better today!

Thursday: Day 31 + Walk

Hey NeverEver’s!

So I have some words of wisdom…ALWAYS CHECK THE DATE ON YOUR MILK! I didn’t follow this  rule and well it wasn’t awesome.

I am pretty happy that I did my Walk in the Park earlier in the day before I had that milk. I did decide that I although I didn’t really feel like I should be heading to the gym, I wanted to give my body a rest from my workouts on Monday – Wednesday!

Here is a pretty picture of the Lynwood Park that I was able to find! I hate the pictures my iTouch makes and don’t seem to remember to bring my camera to my walks.

Got from the Internets

Promise to try and remember to bring my camera when I walk. Sometimes I see some pretty awesome sunsets!

Anyways, here is my stats for Thursday:

Not a bad day

So even with the milk results I think I had a pretty awesome day!

My plans for today, Friday, is to workout at the gym and maybe if Hubby isn’t to tired from work going to go see the Expendables 2!

So I hope you all have a wonderful Friday NeverEver’s! And don’t forget to stay aware from bad milk!

Monday Meals – Healthy Sandwich

Hey NeverEver’s!

Happy Monday everyone! I hope your Monday was good. I am currently not working, and Hubby is on break until Wednesday, so I am enjoying some really awesome quality time + helping Juan with his project.

So as I am home I decided for the next 2 days to cook breakfast and lunches! Just to get in the habit of cooking yummy and healthy food. Because I really need to work on it…I used to hate cooking. Well not really ‘hate’ but more like I have no idea what I am doing in the kitchen! I look at the food in the pantry and the fridge and it overwhelms me.

However, with me trying small things and with the Hubby encouraging me I have so far 2 recipes under me! Both of them are from SkinnyTaste! I love her pictures of the food, it draws me in, and because it is so easy to make what she’s made I keep coming back! My first attempt at cooking was with the Chicken Rollatini With Spinach! And I got praises from the Hubby and my In-Laws!!

So my second foray into the scary kitchen was for lunch! Well technically breakfast but I made waffles with water and canola oil, and since I am comfy with breakfast things I am not really including it…I also forgot to take photos! Sorry!!

Here is what I made – From SkinnyTaste! It was supposed to have Roast Beef and Shaved Parmesan but I didn’t have those things and didn’t really want to go out so I made it this way!

Here are the stats!
  • 2 oz French Bread
  • 2 tbsp of Kraft Mayo with Olive Oil
  • 3 cup of spinach
  • 3 Slices of Hillshire Farm Deli Select Smoked Turkey
  •  1 1/2 tbsp of ricotta cheese – skim
  • Non-Stick Spray
  • 2 slices of small tomato
  • Green Grapes
Make sure to scoop out the middle

Warming the sandwich up

The finished product with snacks!
I hope you have all enjoyed my not so awesome pictures but great tasting sandwich! I think I might be getting used to making my food…but no celebrating yet, I still have another day to go through!

Daily Stats: 25, 26 & 27!

Hey NeverEver’s!

So I have been BUSY the last couple of days. On Friday there was the concert, and Saturday, although I stayed home, I was working on my blog, and Sunday was shopping at the Ontario Mills! Large place that one!
Anyways,
So here is my stats for Friday!
I think it was all the jumping up and down for Juanes that got me those calories burned!
And here they are for my lazy at home but busy working on blog day Saturday!
This is what a lazy day looks like…NOT PRETTY!
So Saturday was a disappointment…but Sunday is here with shopping!
So I didn’t make the 12,000 steps I thought I was going to…

As a day of eating out for both Lunch and Dinner I am pretty satisfied I was able to keep my calorie so well in limit! I am still working on being able to go out and not eat what I used to eat. But it is getting easier to not clean off my plate but instead push it away or taking it home for a 2nd meal! And for me that is a GIANT step in the right direction!

Okay so I am showing off here a little bit…but I hope you don’t mind! Here are the spoils from Ontario!

Pink Sweater – Forever 21, Silver Skirt – H&M, Yellow & Orange Tanks – Wet Seal, Black Tank with Yellow Sports Bra – H&M, Necklaces – Wet Seal, Leopard Print Skirt – Wet Seal, Light Blue Blouse – H&M, White Sweater – Forever 21, Blue Purse – Marshalls

I am so happy I was able to find a comfy sports bra that didn’t have removable pads…I got 2 of those and I hate washing them, mainly because I always forget to remove said pads! Also love my new skirts, I was getting tired of just having black ones!

Got these from Off Broadway! 2 Flats same style just different colors and these delicious brown heels perfect for fall!
So I am extremely happy with my spoils! Saved up for this shopping spree and got ready for the So. Cal Fall Weather, which if you don’t know is usually really hot until about end of October then gets really windy.
So NeverEver’s how was your weekend? How do you guys handle lazy days at home? Especially when you don’t cook?
Have a wonderful rest of your weekend NeverEver’s and see you Monday!

Friday: Meal at Home

Hey NeverEver’s!

So I decided that I wanted to cook today, I haven’t really cooked in a while. Or at least tried something new. So the genius I am decided to cook something with the oven…on a day that the outside heat was around 98+. I can say this for myself…I didn’t give up!

As I was explaining in my last Daily Post Day 24 today the Hubby and I are going to a concert at the Hollywood Bowl to see Juanes! Well they allow you to bring your own food and drinks so I wanted, since we have to get there early to avoid traffic, to cook! Here is what I came up with;

I got the wonderful recipe from SkinnyTaste, you can click to see how it came out for her but here is my pics!

Here is the Recipe Chicken Rollatini With Spinach

Gotta have the ingredients right?

This was the first time I went to Fresh and Easy. I have to say I liked it and it wasn’t bad pricing for the meal.

Right before it went into the toaster oven

So like I said its really hot outside…and whats worse the oven’s door is broken…so unless I really want some burn marks I couldn’t use it. Happily we have a toaster oven that worked perfectly!

All finished here!

And here its all cooked. My cheese didn’t melt that right but I got the right cheese just not the right style 0_o. But it tastes yummy so thats all that counts!

And for the snack!

I got this idea from SkinnyTaste as well. Here is the link, PeanutButter + Jelly + Greek Yogurt! It is super yummy but I used FAGE Yogurt as that is my chosen Greek Yogurt and Raspberry Jelly for a little more tartness!

So I am pretty happy with my first attempt in a LONG while at cooking. I can’t believe this only took about 35 minutes to prep and cook!

Here is the Yogurt Stats!
